Do you want to better understand the Bible? Each Wednesday from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m. in the library Father Pierre-Henry leads the discussions and provides his insight, while seeking the insight of others. This year we are reading and studying the Gospel of Mark.
Progressive Christian Study programs are not lectures. These Wednesday evening events are discussions led by Father Bob Wills, whose experiences and background can provide leadership on the topics being discussed. Discussions may involve books or other media. Call the church office at 778-4499 for scheduling and discussion topics.
EfM is a unique four-year learning certificate program in theological education based on small-group study and practice. EfM helps the faithful encounter the breadth and depth of the Christian tradition and bring it into conversation with their experiences of the world as they study, worship and engage in theological reflection together. Twice a year, we offer an inquirer’s class for those persons who have not yet been sacramentally confirmed or received into the Episcopal Church or who simply want to refresh their understanding of the practice of the Christian Faith within the tradition of the Episcopal Church. These classes, which last 8 weeks, are led by Father Jack Wolter. They are a great way for those new to the Episcopal Church, or to Saint Luke’s in particular, to connect with others in the same position and get their questions answered. One need not be new to the Episcopal Church or to Saint Luke’s to attend these classes. Anyone wishing to deepen their understanding of the practices of the Episcopal Church is invited to participate. This is a class that is instructional to all.
Please contact the Parish office at 778-4499 for scheduling information or if you have specific questions.
Classes to prepare parents and children for Baptism are available. Confirmation courses for both adults and teens to prepare individuals for confirmation are scheduled when needs occur. As Christians, baptism is the center of our identity. Through confirmation, we re-articulate those vows and invite individuals to take up the commitment their parents may have made for them many years earlier. With God’s help, may we all live out our vows in faith, hope and love.
Please contact the Parish office at 778-4499 if you have any questions.
Over time, many small groups have developed at Saint Luke’s among parishioners with common interests, or among those simply looking to connect with others and develop a support system. Many find that the long term relationships which develop among small group members are among their most treasured. Some groups meet monthly or every other week, while others meet every week.
Every effort will be made to connect new parishioners with an existing small group if they desire, or, when interest demands, to facilitate creation of new small group. Currently small groups exist in Prescott, Chino Valley, and Prescott Valley. There are groups that meet based on interests as diverse as photography, painting, needlework, golfing, hiking, and fishing. Whatever your hobbies or interests, chances are there is someone else out there that also shares your interest and would love to meet you!
Please contact the Parish office at 778-4499 to find out what small groups are meeting in your area or that are based on your interests, or if you are interested in leading or hosting a small group.
