Native American Ministry
The Wisdom of Wolfkiller,
a 19th century Navajo shepherd and sage.
On Saturday, June 29th at 10:30 AM until noon, At St. Luke’s Episcopal Church, Harvey Leake spoke about what he learned from the gift his great-grandmother gave him. His great grandfather John lived among the Navajo. Wolfkiller related centuries old stories in the Navajo tongue and John’s wife Louise wrote them down. These stories emphasized the importance of staying connected with nature, dealing with anger, and how work brings the good things into one’s life. Mr. Leake is known by many as an informed and passionate speaker. This program was open to the public at no charge. It was sponsored by the St. Luke’s Native American Ministry committee.
